  3. CoNkOrE says:

mine is an aiptek video/camera and once again $85 and has a voice-recorder an mp3 player and can also take pictures next to making 180 minute videos!

  4. DiamondDudeFilm says:

    what cam is it?

I still use miniDV and it looks 10x better than this digital crap. And with firewire, downloading off of a miniDV camera is as easy a plugging it in to a computer. I highly support miniDV. Its cheap, easy to use, and you don’t have to worry about a hard drive or SD card crashing,

I’ll tell you why the Sony Xacti SUCK and why you should NEVER get one if you’re a filmmaker. The Adapter plugs into the bottom. What does that mean? It means if you want to plug in a monitor, or even just keep the camera plugged in to charge or keep a dead battery going, you can’t set it on a tripod. Because the jack is in the way. Not to mention the quality is crap. I wouldn’t care if it was a Canon XL2, if I can’t put it on a tripod plugged in. What good is it?

You can get a great mini DV camera really cheap. I would suggest the Canon ZR series. You can even plug external mics into them…which is very important unless you are making silent films.

  11. poolboyinla says:

You are totally right. This video is just silly.

  12. nigeleastman says:

take look a the flip cameras!

  13. TWSSProductions says:

Gah! Tapes are easily still the way to go. Not only are they 100x more reliable than digital, they also allow for achieving! SUPER important if your doing anything thats the least bit valuable. Computers crash, it happens, and if you have everything backed up on tape still, you’ll be fine. Not to mention, a camera that size doesn’t get you used to using more industry standard equipment.

  14. ToasterPig says:

A camera that cheep might be ok really early on in your filmmaking career. But when it comes to technology, you get what you pay for.
Saving up some money to buy a more expensive camera is definitely worth it.

I would like to find the video on the $18
camera please let me know where that video is
    located.

I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews (dot) net It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position.

There is software im using to send atleast 30,000 text message a day advertising my online business…it is amazing. I think they have free demos to try as well.
autotextsender (dot) com and autotextmailer (dot) com

    I like what i watched.

Yeah I agree..and DV does have better quality on the tape whe used..also when you do use a hour long DV tape you can reuse it by just uploading onto your computer and then stick back in the cam, simple..and cheap of course work better if you have about five or six of em.

  18. ATBStudios says:

but u can get 4 tapes togethor for pretty cheap

Also takes a while to transfer, a long while.

For fast loading and such for family films, solid state (NOT HARD DRIVE) are fine.

Only recently have hard drive(true hard drives, not flash memory) recorders been introduced, they’re slightly expensive, but they do easily compare with dv cam.

I use a solid state cam for quick projects for school and friends, and just purchased a slightly used HDR-SR12 for projects and it works great for all we’re doing.

  20. splitterjoe92 says:

Wtf? Mini-dv is better for digital editing than Hard drive cameras. mini-dv got better quality but only have one hour per tape.

  21. TheMikeGuy says:

im suprised on how IndyMogul let down minidv, it is great with editing, has great quality, and has great size, it is great! i think that IndyMogul should more likely recommend minidv.

  22. islandnetwork says:

i have one like that… except it’s in HD

  23. AboutMovies says:

miniDV is the best for editing! No problem with tapes.

  24. JoesRedGuitar says:

I don’t really think you’ll be able to get a quality picture from these types of cameras. Right off the bat, they are compressed to be able to drag the files into your computer, then you edit, export, and compress some more. It’s a compression orgy!

  25. Laszlo75 says:

    Mini DV forever !!!
I really think it provides best quality.
